    Men’s Health

From preventative measures to address specific conditions, Spring Integrative Health’s Naturopathic doctors (NDs) can help you or the important men in your life achieve better health and vitality.

One of the most important steps you can take towards your health is preventing problems before they occur. In your first visit, our NDs discuss the foundation of optimal health and pinpoint ways that you can optimize your health and prevent chronic disease before it starts (many patients already have signs of poor health and don’t even realize it). Our doctors also explore your health history in depth to gain a full understanding of your health story.

Stopping chronic disease is only one of the many benefits of preventative health. In addition, many men enjoy better energy, more restful sleep, improved libido, increased vitality, less frequent illness, reduced joint pain, and healthier weight. Examples of chronic disease that can be prevented through visiting with one of our doctors include diabetes, low testosterone, fatigue, benign prostate hypertrophy, and colon cancer.

Spring Integrative Health offers Men’s Wellness Exams to help men of all ages take advantage of preventative care. Studies show men are less likely to integrate preventative care into their daily routine, so our doctors take particular care to communicate with and cultivate good relationships with our male patients. The goal is to empower you to take the lead on your health and healing!

An important condition treated by our NDs is andropause. As men come into middle age they may experience fatigue, decrease in libido or sex drive, hair loss, central weight gain, or poor sleep, to name a few symptoms. All of these symptoms can be explained by changes in hormones, similar to changes that women go through in menopause (whether you want to admit it or not, guys, it’s happening to you too.) In men, hormonal changes can be more subtle, but they still deserve our attention. Low testosterone, altered testosterone metabolism, cortisol depletion, and estrogen increase are all potential hormone changes that can be slowed, reversed, or ameliorated with nutrients, nutrition, herbal medicine, and pharmaceutical/hormonal medications when indicated. We work with you to restore your energy, regain your sex drive, impede hair loss, and improve body composition by examining your hormone picture and supporting you through life’s changes.

Our Naturopathic doctors encourage men to schedule annual wellness visits. At these annual exams, a detailed health history and routine physical is performed and often routine blood tests will be ordered.

Below you’ll find a list of some of the most common reasons men come to see a Naturopathic doctor. Naturopathic medicine is excellent at addressing these issues for many men and can offer a great adjunctive or alternative option to conventional care.
